Sunday services

Our Sunday morning service is at 11.00am, and our Sunday evening service is at 6.30pm, both held in-person at the church.

Our morning services regularly feature visiting speakers from outside the church - often representing mission organisations we support. Our evening services are more reflective, and usually feature a Bible study led by one of the elders or others in the church.

Currently we are not regularly live-streaming our services. You can catch up on previous live-streamed Sunday morning services here.

Children and young people

Our youth groups:

  • Acorn Club for children aged 3-6
  • Twigs for children aged 7-10
  • Tetris for children aged 11-15
  • Acts 29: the next chapter for young people aged 16+

all meet during the Sunday morning service, with regular social activities throughout the year.

We encourage all our children and young people to study the word of God and learn to be a model to others.

During the morning service, a crèche for babies and pre-school children is available.

Prayer and fellowship

Most of us find that we can enjoy closer and more meaningful fellowship with people in a smaller group. Oakwood's home groups exist to serve this purpose, and to provide an environment in which we can share, study the Bible, and pray in a more informal way. We encourage everyone to join our home groups if they are able.

We meet in people's homes at 7.00pm on Tuesday for prayer and 6.00pm on Friday for fellowship.

We meet at the church on Saturday at 9.00am for prayer.

Special events

Each year we have at least three events to which we especially welcome visitors:

  • Summer barbecue
  • Harvest celebration
  • Carol service

Our barbecue is usually held on a Friday or Saturday evening just before schools break up for the summer holidays.

Our harvest celebration takes place in September or October. We send all non-perishable donations to Mill Grove, and auction off the perishable items, with the funds raised also going to support the work at Mill Grove.

We hold a "carols by candlelight" service in mid-December. This year's carol service is on Sunday 17 December, at 6.30pm.

Of course, we gladly welcome visitors to any of our services or fellowship meetings.
